Football Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to the Sandy Creek Comets.

When it comes to explaining why Notre Dame lost, don't look at Jonathan Jackson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 207 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.

Sandy Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hudson Hunt led the charge by rushing for 38 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 125 yards and one touchdown on perfect 6-for-6 passing. The dominant performance also gave Hunt a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Another player making a difference was Micah Hawn, who gained 113 total yards and a touchdown.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sandy Creek, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
