Basketball Recap: Hanna Takes a Loss

Hanna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Harlingen Cardinals 83-26. The Golden Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.

Leading Harlingen to victory were Aubrey Williams and Sarah Sanusi. Williams went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and five steals, while Sanusi almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Those five steals gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaris Martinez, who posted ten points and three steals.

Hanna's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Harlingen, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hanna has already played their next game (against Harvest Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harlingen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-45 win against Los Fresnos on the 14th.
