Recap: Great Mills Hornets vs. Lackey Chargers
The Great Mills Hornets won against the Lackey Chargers last Monday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Great Mills enjoyed a cozy 56-37 win over Lackey. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Great Mills also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Great Mills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Telisa Adams, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Adams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaliyah Brown, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Great Mills and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Lackey, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-4 record last season and are now at 5-8.
Great Mills will head out on the road to take on Calvert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvert comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lackey, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Charles at 5:00 p.m. St. Charles' defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Lackey's offense will have their work cut out for them.
