Basketball Recap: Gretna Takes a Loss

Gretna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norris Titans. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Titans are ranked second).

Chris Garner Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norris, going 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points and six boards. Macoy Folkerts was another key player, putting up five points and five assists.

Gretna's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Norris, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Coming up, Gretna is taking a road trip to challenge Bennington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norris, they will venture away from home to face off against Skutt Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
