Volleyball Game Preview: Wakefield Trojans vs. Stanton Mustangs

The Wakefield Trojans will challenge the Stanton Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wakefield has struggled recently with 15 losses in a row, while Stanton will arrive with six straight victories.

On Thursday, Wakefield came up short against Howells-Dodge and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Stanton was able to grind out a solid win over Humphrey-Lindsay on Thursday, taking the game 2-0.

While Stanton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14.

Wakefield better focus on containing Rylan Hansen and Hazel Schellpeper as the pair were huge in Stanton's win. Hansen had eight digs and two aces, while Schellpeper had six digs and two assists. That's the most assists Schellpeper has posted since back in September.

Stanton's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-22.
