Basketball Recap: Kiley Billingsley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitwell over South Pittsburg

Whitwell lost against South Pittsburg back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The matchup between the Whitwell Tigers and the South Pittsburg Pirates didn't end well, with the Whitwell Tigers falling 46-30. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Whitwell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kiley Billingsley, who went 6 for 13 en route to 12 points. Billingsley is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ella Grace Harvey, who posted four points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Whitwell's record is now 8-8. As for South Pittsburg, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Whitwell Tigers challenge the Copper Basin Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Pittsburg has already played their next game (against St. Andrews-Sewanee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
