Baseball Recap: Naples Takes a Loss

If Naples was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Lely last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Naples Golden Eagles fell just short of the First Baptist Academy Lions by a score of 9-8 on Thursday.

Naples got a big performance out of CORT CAMPINS, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was NICO BLANCO, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Naples' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for First Baptist Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Naples has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Evangelical Christian on the 14th. As for First Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 victory against Babcock on the 14th.
