Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Takes a Loss

Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They came up short against the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders, falling 60-37. The Dolphins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 68-64.

Despite the loss, Gulf Breeze saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adyson Davidson posted nine points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Davidson a new career-high in points.

It was another big night for Jenecia Swindell, who put up 18 points in addition to four steals and three blocks for Pensacola Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Smith, who had ten points and six rebounds.

Gulf Breeze's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Pensacola Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Gulf Breeze didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-25 loss against West Florida Baptist Academy on the 27th. As for Pensacola Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-29 win against Tate on the 27th.
