Preview: Hillcrest Vikings vs. Whitehaven Tigers

Hillcrest is 0-3 against Whitehaven since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hillcrest Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Whitehaven Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Hillcrest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 731 points over their last nine games.

Hillcrest has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Fairley for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-46 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hillcrest has managed all season.

Xavier Herron and Jordan Allen were among the main playmakers for Hillcrest as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists and the latter scored 33 points along with seven steals and six assists. The contest was Allen's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Corean Mathis, who scored 11 points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Whitehaven's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 69-41 defeat at the hands of First Assembly Christian. Whitehaven was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Whitehaven, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Hillcrest lost to Whitehaven on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Hillcrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
