Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jamal Rocha and Keanu Timoteo Lead Irvin to Victory

Irvin won the last time they faced Harmony School of Innovation and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Irvin Rockets were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over the Harmony School of Innovation Wolves. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Irvin to victory were Keanu Timoteo and Jamal Rocha. Timoteo went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and six boards, while Rocha almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. With that strong performance, Rocha is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Sebastian Sepulveda was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 10 points.

Irvin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Harmony School of Innovation's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jay Brooks, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Brooks a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Rodela, who posted 11 points.

Irvin's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Harmony School of Innovation, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvin has already played their next matchup (against Austin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harmony School of Innovation is taking a road trip to square off against Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Harmony School of Innovation surely won't give up without a fight.
