Basketball Game Preview: Kalama Chinooks vs. La Center Wildcats

The Kalama Chinooks will venture away from home to square off against the La Center Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kalama will head into Saturday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were dealt a 75-47 loss at the hands of Seton Catholic. The contest marked the Chinooks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, La Center came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 66-46 margin over the Knights. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

La Center's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Kalama, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Kalama couldn't quite finish off La Center in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 and fell 66-63. Can Kalama avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
