Baseball Recap: Vancleave's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Vancleave unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Stone Tomcats by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tomcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kyle Capers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Vancleave's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 18-5. As for Stone, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13.

While Vancleave had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
