Basketball Recap: Piedmont Academy Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Piedmont Academy extended their home winning streak to 15 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Marissa Holder. The Piedmont Academy Cougars walked away with a 62-55 win over the Stratford Academy Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Holder, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 11 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Piedmont Academy's points.

Piedmont Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Stratford Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.

The future could be bright for both Piedmont Academy and Stratford Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Piedmont Academy will try to hand John Milledge Academy their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Stratford Academy will look to extend Mount de Sales Academy's four-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
