Volleyball Recap: Marina Comes Up Short

Marina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Corona del Mar Sea Kings, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sea Kings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in February.

Marina's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Corona del Mar, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Marina and Corona del Mar should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Marina (ranked 193rd) will meet Oxford Academy (ranked 429th) at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Corona del Mar will square off against Edison at 5:45 p.m. on Friday up 131 places (8 vs. 139).
