Basketball Recap: Pontiac's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pontiac had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 60-56 win over the Limestone Rockets on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Rockets are ranked 212th).

Pontiac's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Limestone, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Pontiac will venture away from home to face off against Peoria Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Limestone, they will square off against Dunlap at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunlap has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
