Baseball Recap: Norwood Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Norwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cabool Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Carder Kelly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Laken Coatney, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Norwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Norwood's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Cabool, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Coming up, Norwood will face off against Winona at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cabool, they will take on Koshkonong at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
