Volleyball Recap: Joliet West Tigers vs. Oswego Panthers
It was a proper cat-fight when Joliet West challenged Oswego on Thursday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
While Joliet West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18.
Their offense was headlined by Michael Meloy and Drew Johnson, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Nolan Fellows and his 13 assists. Davide Giambagli controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Among those leading the charge was Isaac Izeta, who had ten digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April.
Joliet West has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 23-11 record this season.
