Recap: United Longhorns vs. Marshall Rams
After losing to the Marshall Rams the last time they met, the United Longhorns decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. United slipped by Marshall 53-52 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for United.
Marshall's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Liam Curry, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Aric Goodman, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
United has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Marshall, they bumped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. United's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ralston Valley at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in Ralston Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to face off against Clark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clark presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marshall in Texas (Clark is ranked 333rd, while Marshall is ranked 887th).
