Recap: Xenia Buccaneers vs. Fairborn Skyhawks
The Xenia Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to Fairborn. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fairborn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Townsend, who scored 18 points. Townsend continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taiyou Williams, who scored 16 points.
Xenia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Fairborn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Xenia will take on Piqua at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Piqua focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Fairborn, they will be playing at home against Stebbins at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stebbins is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
