Softball Recap: Allen Park Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Allen Park dropped their record down to 18-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home. They lost 11-0 to the Woodhaven Warriors. The Jaguars were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six contests prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Woodhaven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

For Woodhaven's part, Natilee Pridemore made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pridemore has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ariel Krueger also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Looking ahead, Allen Park will face off against Grand Blanc at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Woodhaven, they will challenge Farmington at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
