The Cyprus Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Lone Peak Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cyprus' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Lone Peak's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Cyprus needed a bit of extra time to put away Taylorsville. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 8-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Breelyn ( Bree ) Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last ten games. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Calee Sharp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Frankee Kelsch was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Cyprus lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Cedar Valley.
Maggie Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
Cyprus now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Lone Peak, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Everything went Cyprus' way against Lone Peak in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as Cyprus made off with an 18-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cyprus since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
