Football Game Preview: Northwest Vikings vs. Kenwood Knights

Northwest hasn't had much luck against Kenwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Northwest has given up an average of 27.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northwest lost 45-19 to Dickson County on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Kenwood's offense. They lost to Pearl-Cohn at home by a 19-0 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Firebirds are ranked 31st).

Northwest now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Kenwood, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Northwest couldn't quite get it done against Kenwood when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 27-19. Thankfully for the Vikings, Jakoby Cox (who rushed for 61 yards and one score on only five carries, and also threw for 129 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
