Preview: Heritage Christian Patriots vs. Christian Community Warriors
Heritage Christian is 2-7 against Christian Community since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Heritage Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Christian Community Warriors at 6:00 p.m.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-22, which was the final score in Heritage Christian's tilt against HEARTS for Jesus Christ last Friday. Heritage Christian has struggled against HEARTS for Jesus Christ recently, as their match last Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Christian Community entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Christian Community breezed by Varsity Opponent at home to the tune of 69-33. The result was nothing new for Christian Community, who have now won three matches by 30 points or more so far this season.
Christian Community got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Roberts out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Roberts' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Doeringer, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Christian Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Heritage Christian came up short against Christian Community when the teams last played back in February, falling 53-43. Can Heritage Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
