Volleyball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Cedarburg Bulldogs. If the Sabers were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lilly Mickelson paced Franklin's offense, picking up three kills. Mickelson were helped by Nikolina Trivunovic and Macie Keller, who contributed three assists each. Finally, Samantha Ruffing kept Franklin's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Peyton Wollman went supernova For Cedarburg., getting eight aces and seven digs. That's the most aces Wollman has posted since back in August. Lucy Pahl was another key player, getting four digs and two aces.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Cedarburg, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-6.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Fond du Lac on the 27th. As for Cedarburg, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Slinger on the 27th.
