Southampton is a perfect 10-0 against Sussex Central since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will welcome the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Southampton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Southampton fell victim to Lunenburg Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Sussex Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Surry County by a score of 4-3.

Sussex Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Patterson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Patterson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Marzavion Stith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Southampton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Sussex Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Southampton took their win against Sussex Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
