Volleyball Recap: Tolman Wins High-Profile Contest Against Barrington

Tolman faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

While Tolman might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Barrington scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 27-25, 25-23.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 31 assists. Finally, Mohamed Diagne kept Tolman's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Tolman pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Barrington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coming up, Tolman will challenge Juanita Sanchez Complex at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Barrington, they will face off against Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
