Baseball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Lehi Pioneers

The Lone Peak Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Lehi Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Skyridge hit Lone Peak with a six-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights came up short against the Falcons, falling 14-4. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bowen Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. He has become a key player for Lone Peak: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Ladd, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Lehi faced American Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pioneers lost 11-2 to the Cavemen. Pioneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cavemen since on Friday.

Boston Drakulich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lehi has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Lone Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Lone Peak might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Lehi in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
