Highlands Ranch had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 9-10 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Heritage Eagles 8-7. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Highlands Ranch got a great performance from Thomas Healy as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Healy is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Josh Dave was excellent, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and one run. He has become a key player for Highlands Ranch: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 6-10 otherwise. Cody Dane was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Highlands Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
As for Heritage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.
On Heritage's side, Jaden McKinney was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits.
At the plate, James Kellogg was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Bode Shoen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Highlands Ranch is taking a road trip to square off against Bear Creek at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Heritage, they will host Ponderosa at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
