Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Has No Trouble Against Taylorsville

Pleasant Grove won the last time they faced Taylorsville and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Pleasant Grove Vikings' way against the Taylorsville Warriors as the Pleasant Grove Vikings made off with an 11-1 victory. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Pleasant Grove got a great performance from Noah Brady as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs Brady has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Nash Bennett was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Keaton Nordick was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylorsville only managed four hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Pleasant Grove and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Taylorsville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Pleasant Grove will head out to take on Dixie at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Taylorsville, they will face off against Arbor View at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Taylorsville has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
