Football Preview: North Forsyth Raiders vs. Lanier Longhorns
After starting their season with two straight games on the road, North Forsyth is finally coming home. They will be defending their home-field for the first time when they go up against the Lanier Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, North Forsyth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Creekview. The Raiders have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lanier was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 420 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Lanier didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ian Kasende and Joseph Curry. David Edward was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.
North Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lanier, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
North Forsyth came up short against Lanier in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, falling 27-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lanier's Tojuan Peyton Jr., who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
