Basketball Recap: Still Creek Christian's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Still Creek Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over the Faith Christian Saints. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-34 two weeks ago.

Still Creek Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Walton out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Walton's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jeremy Reed was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.

Still Creek Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jorge Estrada, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and six steals. The dominant performance gave Estrada a new career-high in steals. Bryan Galvan also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Still Creek Christian is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Still Creek Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-25 victory against Community Christian on the 1st. Faith Christian has also already played their next matchup (against Liberty Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
