Softball Preview: Pacheco Panthers vs. Ceres Bulldogs        
        
		
            Pacheco hasn't had much luck against Ceres recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Pacheco Panthers will head out to  square off against the Ceres Bulldogs  at 4:00  p.m. Pacheco has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Pacheco is headed into Friday's   contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game  on Wednesday. They came up short against  Johansen, falling  18-8.
  Sophia Lowery made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Chavez, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Ceres had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Lathrop on Wednesday as Ceres made off with  a  13-3 win.
 Samantha Alcarez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Ava Montesdeoca was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Kyleigh Robinson was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run.
 Ceres  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Pacheco's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Ceres, their record is now 5-6.
 Pacheco might still be hurting after the  10-0 loss they got from Ceres  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can Pacheco avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
