It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newsome can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sumner Stingrays by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Allyson Conner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Arriana N Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Newsome's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Sumner, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Newsome nor Sumner have any future games scheduled.
