Softball Recap: Cape Coral Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cape Coral and Charlotte squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cape Coral had to settle for second. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jocelyn Slater was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

The defeat snapped Cape Coral's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-6 record. As for Charlotte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Cape Coral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte, they will take on North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fightin' Tarpons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Knights have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
