Softball Recap: Pecos Comes Up Short

Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-8 to the Fort Stockton Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in March.

Ciarra S was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Carriz Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Pecos' loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Fort Stockton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pecos will face off against Greenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Rangers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fort Stockton, they will head out on the road to square off against Andrews at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
