Volleyball Game Preview: Trona Tornadoes vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

Trona is 0-10 against Lone Pine since September of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Tornadoes will host the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

Trona is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th on Wednesday. They came up short against Immanuel Christian, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Tornadoes haven't been shut out since back in August.

Trona was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Lone Pine waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1.

Lone Pine walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-27, 25-12.

Trona's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Lone Pine, their win bumped their record up to 9-11-2.

Trona couldn't quite get it done against Lone Pine in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
