After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Winamac, Caston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Triton Trojans with a sharp 15-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.
Hadlie Coffing made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Coffing was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Warner, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Lexie Field also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
