The Mountain View Mountain Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Greeley Central Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Mountain View humbled Northridge with an 82-44 victory. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Mares-Benz, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Garland, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

Mountain View was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Greeley Central didn't have quite enough to beat Northridge on Friday and fell 57-54. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Greeley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Mountain View took their victory against Greeley Central when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 75-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
