Basketball Recap: Bruton Panthers vs. New Kent Trojans
After a string of eight wins, Bruton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Kent Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Trojans are ranked 25th).

When it comes to explaining why Bruton lost, don't look at Brandon Freeman. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards.
