Recap: Da Vinci Dragons vs. Anthony Wildcats

The Da Vinci Dragons pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anthony. Da Vinci has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Da Vinci lost, one person who can't be blamed is Valeria Miranda. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Morales, who scored ten points.

It was another big night for Julie Cuellar, who scored 54 points for Anthony. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which Cuellar has scored at least 25% of Anthony's points. Aissa Castillo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Da Vinci's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Anthony, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Da Vinci will challenge Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anthony will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Clint at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Clint will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
