Basketball Recap: Peetz Triumphs

If Lone Star wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Peetz, they should've done a better job of containing Connor Schumacher. Everything went the Peetz Bulldogs' way against the Lone Star Longhorns on Saturday as the Peetz Bulldogs made off with a 67-41 win with plenty of help from Schumacher, who shot 48% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Patrick Moreno, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Lone Star lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jesus Hermosillo, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Anderson Weathers was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points.

Peetz's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Lone Star, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Peetz nor Lone Star have any future games scheduled.
