Recap: Lee Generals vs. John Battle Trojans
The Lee Generals pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 42-34 to John Battle. Lee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as John Battle apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Braxton Emerson was on fire for John Battle: he rushed for 198 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Emerson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Brayden Emerson, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Lee now has a losing record at 4-5. As for John Battle, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Lee will be playing at home against Abingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for John Battle, they will head out on the road to face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
