Basketball Recap: Calvert's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

There's no place like home for Calvert, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Westlake Wolverines by a score of 36-24 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cavaliers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Calvert got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Kidwell out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. Kidwell has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amani Welch, who posted nine points along with eight boards and four steals.

Calvert's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Westlake, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Calvert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 29-21 win against Thomas Stone on the 4th. As for Westlake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-44 victory against Great Mills on the 5th.
