Basketball Game Preview: Calvin Christian Squires vs. Fruitport Trojans

The Calvin Christian Squires will challenge the Fruitport Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Calvin Christian is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hamilton just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hawkeyes by a score of 47-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Squires came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Hawkeyes are ranked 373rd).

Fruitport hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down Godwin Heights 40-26 on Tuesday.

Fruitport's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Calvin Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
