Marcellus came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their match with ease, bagging a 61-34 win over the Comstock Colts. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-51 back in January.

Marcellus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Parker Adams led the charge by going 5-for-9 to rack up 15 points and five assists. Adams' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Beau Ferguson was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Marcellus' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points over those games. As for Comstock, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marcellus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Lawrence likes a good challenge. As for Comstock, they will welcome Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
