Softball Recap: East Lee County's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

East Lee County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lehigh, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Jaguars blew past the Lightning 41-35 on Thursday. The Jaguars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Savannah Negron was a standout: she scored seven runs while going 7-for-7. Sophia Meixsell was another key player, scoring six runs while going 6-for-6.

East Lee County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .612. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

East Lee County's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Lehigh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

East Lee County has already played their next game, a 22-7 defeat against Cape Coral on the 8th. As for Lehigh, they will square off against Island Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
