Softball Recap: Quaker Valley Comes Up Short

Quaker Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-4 to the Hopewell Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Quakers of the 14-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Grace Carver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Natalie DeGori was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Quaker Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hopewell, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Quaker Valley will square off against rival Avonworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hopewell is set to take on their familiar foe Ellwood City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
