Baseball Recap: Crete Comes Up Short

Crete lost to Lincoln Northeast back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

Ike Svitak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Caleb Disch, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Crete and nudges their season record down to 12-15. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Lincoln Northeast, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Crete does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Silver Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
