Baseball Recap: Benicia Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Benicia had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Redwood Giants. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Benicia got a great performance from Dominic Louro as he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Myles Cooper, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carlos Largaespada, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Benicia's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Redwood, they moved to 18-9-1 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Benicia will face off against Foothill on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Redwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
