Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Marauders vs. Center Grove Trojans
If Mt. Vernon was feeling good off their 20-0 takedown of Anderson last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mt. Vernon Marauders fell just short of the Center Grove Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mt. Vernon of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Mt. Vernon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shelby Rakosky, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
On Center Grove's side, they got a great performance from Riley Fuhr as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.
